The Clayton Hotel - Plant Noise Mitigation

Part of The Clayton Hotel collection, this flagship hotel is a seven storey, contemporary landmark building off Sir John Rogerson's Quay in the Dublin Docklands.

There are prestigious residential developments around the site and a noise complaint was received emanating from the plant room servicing the swimming pool. We measured ambient noise level, estimated fan noise contribution and calculated the required insertion loss of a duct silencer to mitigate the problem.

We offered technical and design advise to the contractor to ensure their solution would provide the required performance. This was particularly tricky given the confined plant room space.

M&E noise control strategy to deal with a noise complaint.
