A leading medical device manufacturer required product certification of a small medical device to ISO 3744 standard.

Other applications we have preformed similar tests to include lawnmowers, recycling machines, diesel gensets, domestic appliances and air handling plant.

In this case we used a B&K Type 4204 reference sound source to ‘calibrate’ the test environment which was a hemi-anechoic chamber. The device under test was single-use and simultaneous measurement of 10 microphone positions was required. A multi-channel data acquisition system allowed for data processing and 30 units were tested.

Notwithstanding a couple of hours of setting up, we had the results within 10mins of the final test.
