Noise study of Commuter Rail Line
The study was based on CRN methodology assisted by an inhouse model.
Model calibration at representative locations showed good agreement with prediction. Modelling with current operating conditions and existing mitigation provisions revealed that prevailing noise level at a number of NSRs along the alignment were higher than the criteria.
Mitigation by means of vertical barrier, cantilevered barrier, partial enclosure and full enclosure were proposed and optimised. Budgetary cost estimates were also provided for the proposed mitigation measures.
