Anaerobic Digester
EIAR

The Anaerobic Digester development near Kells, Co. Meath comprised of storage and processing plant to accommodate agricultural manures, residues, slurries and grass silage and its conversion into a methane rich biogas that is a carbon negative alternative to natural gas, and a nutrient rich fertiliser and digestate. Carbon dioxide from the process will also be captured and converted into food grade CO2.

Enfonic were engaged to look after the noise and vibration impact assessment for the EIAR. Many sources and processes were novel and our extensive experience in all types of plant and machinery was brought to bear to produce a detailed noise propagation model for various operational phases.

Background noise, construction phase and associated construction of a gas pipeline were included. Planning approval was granted in January 2023 and we look forward to working on the detail design and construction monitoring in due course.

Construction & operational phase impact assessment of next generation waste-to-energy facility.
